Sometimes I find myself thinking about the little niceties in my day that so many people take for granted. We really do have it pretty good here in America. If you take a walk in the worst ghetto in America, which I have done, I always remember that it is much worse in other places in the world. Some places have no running water, electricity or food. Some places have rampant disease and war like we are not accustomed to. Have we become complacent in little bubbles of comfort?
All that we can be thankful for was provided for us by a veteran. The endless stories provided recently by Bob Going on www.rgoing.livejournal.com are a testament to the sacrifice by those men and women who have fought for this country. After the many wars our people have fought, the blood spilled and the deafening silence of those who have died, the least we could do is take a few dollars out of our pockets to support the Amsterdam Veteran commissions goal of a new memorial. Please take 5 minutes out of your day and make a phone call to Anthony Leggiero to see how you can honor these men and woman. 843-4041
